The Ionian Islands The Ionian Islands are a small group of islands just off the western Greek seaboard. For centuries they have maintained their own identity and culture, each is unique, set into captivating landscapes of rugged mountains, green hills and the ever-present turquoise waters of the Ionian Sea.

Home of Ionian Island Holidays and the largest, most varied of the seven islands. Dramatic mountains and coasts made for exploration, green valleys and secluded bays, havens of peace and solitude.

The island that gave the English language one of its most evocative words - odyssey. Not just a legendary destination at the end of a mythical journey, but an island of tranquil coves, green mountains and secret valleys where the reality is as inspiring as the legend.

The White Island, wild in the West, perfect beaches, lonely headlands and a turquoise sea, rugged mountains above the fertile eastern valleys. The rural tradition of centuries lives on in unspoilt villages amongst vineyards and olive groves.

A unique example of where tradition and relaxation combine - on a small, completely peaceful island where there really is all the time in the world.

The island of the olives, and a holiday paradise which sees visitors returning year after year. Apart from Gaios, the bustling island port and capital, the rest of Paxos comprises small hamlets and isolated houses, with no large holiday complexes so that even at the height of the season, this is a peaceful island where it is possible to wander along old mule tracks and discover shaded paths down to hidden coves.

The most romantic island of the Ionian and the most verdant. Corfu has inspired writers and poets for over a thousand years, and despite its popularity, the magic remains in remote, traditional mountain villages, glorious bays and beaches, and a rich architectural and archeological heritage.

An honourary Ionian Island, by virtue of its magnificent unspoilt coastline of deep inlets and rugged headlands, its outlook across the Ionian Sea to Corfu, Lefkada and beyond, and its high, green mountains, secret valleys and lack of tourist development.

A week flotilla sailing around the southern Ionian Sea, together with a week on shore on either Kefalonia or Lefkada.
