Nestling in the magical olive groves of northern Corfu close to the beach with sea views • Sleeps 2 - 6 • Private Swimming Pool • Car Hire • Air Conditioning in Bedrooms Corfu is an island of pleasant surprises and Bolana Bay at its north east corner is one of them. Approaching from the south, a quiet country road winds its way down through olive groves, the sea still out of sight, you can glimpse the brown hills of Albania through the branches, seemingly close enough to touch. Then the trees can give way to more open slopes of old vine terraces now reclaimed by myrtle and broom; one last bend and there is a crescent of bright shingle and blue water, perhaps a sail or two bending to the breeze. This is Avlaki beach, with its wonderful beach side tavernas and the centrepiece of an unspoilt stretch of coastline which never becomes overcrowded, lying at the head of the bay.
Five minutes walk beyond the beach, set in its own wonderfully mature gardens on a slight rise is Villa Lofos. Shrubs and olive trees ensure privacy. The villa has its own private swimming pool located a few steps down from the villa, and a large terrace with sun loungers and parasols assuring relaxation, shade and privacy.
The interior accommodation is cool and spacious, blending contemporary fittings and furniture with the traditional Greek style and elegance. With large picture windows, the beautiful gardens become that extra room, which is the hallmark of good design. The villa is built on two storeys, the lower portion being storage and the upper floor making the most of the views. Approached from the rear, direct to the upper floor the villa opens out to a spacious living room with dining facilities and an open plan kitchen leading to the terrace and the wonderful views towards Avlaki Bay. The three bedroom property consists of one double bedroom with en suite shower room and two win bedrooms with an additional shower room.
With an excellent array of tavernas and mini markets less than five minutes walk and the enhancing pebble beach of Coyevinas even closer, Villa Lofos makes a fantastic retreat.
