Stylish accommodation in the heart of the town with spectacular views of Vathy • Sleeps 2 - 6 • Shared Swimming Pool • Air Conditioning Adonis and his vivacious Italian wife, Anna, have completely restored this elegant town house, converting it into
beautifully appointed and comfortable holiday accommodation. The house is set in a large garden with olive
trees, citrus trees and vines. Wherever possible original features have been retained. A covered side passage
with flagged floors and old stone laundry troughs is a prime example. Upstairs there are two attractive and
comfortable maisonettes with views from the balcony, over the rooftops towards the harbour and the impressive
slopes of Mount Neritos behind.
The three bedroom maisonettes have a master double bedroom on the top floor with en suite bathroom and
two small balconies at the side and front. Downstairs are two twin bedrooms with an additional shower room,
situated at the rear of the house that both lead directly onto a shaded back terrace. There is a fully fitted
kitchen and an extremely spacious living/dining room, opening onto a large sun terrace to the front. There are
two one bedroom apartments on the ground floor with attractive stonework incorporated into the design. Each
of these apartments have a double bed, shower and fully fitted kitchenette. In the past, many Greek families
would move into the cool basement for the summer. Elea continues this tradition but with the added benefits of
modern design and comfort. Doors open onto a shaded terrace fringed by jasmine and bougainvillea.
Anna has used her natural eye for colour and design both inside and out, to add bright flower beds and new
plantings to the area around the swimming pool and in front of the house. Old vines covering the back terrace
were protected during renovations so that guests in the spring can try their hand at making their fresh dolmades
(stuffed vine leaves) in the well appointed kitchenettes. Later in the year a bunch of grapes or even a fresh
lemon can be picked almost without stirring from your sun lounger!
The decorative fruit of the pomegranate used to be hung up over the front doors of Greek houses to symbolise
welcome and friendship. It is entirely appropriate that Adonis and Anna have two pomegranate trees just
outside these lovely apartments.
