Markandonata is one of the last villages before you reach Fiskardo. Despite the devastation of the great earthquake of 1953 the area has become a thriving community, opening its doors to visitors looking for a peaceful holiday in lovely surroundings. However its true glory lies beyond the houses lining the road, the old village, an area of great beauty and historical interest. Its ruined cottages and chapels, surrounded by fields reclaimed by right colourful carpets of wild flowers, overlooking a valley of cypress and oak trees with the blue Ionian Sea sparkling beyond. It is an utterly peaceful hidden gem.

Villa Christina, is an elegant and comfortable house blessed with glorious panoramic views. It is reached by a quiet lane from the main village, passing the lonely tower of a ruined windmill that is a reminder of the wheat fields that once gave this area its prosperity. The amazing far reaching panoramic views from Christina are unobstructed and unrivalled on the island. Looking out to the immense blues of the Ionian Sea you have a complete sense of freedom. The view takes you along the spectacular white cliffs of the Lixouri peninsula to the very tip of Lefkada and its solitary lighthouse.

The spacious and airy villa is spread over two floors with all rooms taking full advantage of the fantastic panorama. Upstairs is the master double bedroom with en suite bathroom and large terrace. The ground floor consists of two twin bedrooms, one with en suite shower room, separate shower room, open plan kitchen and living room leading out to the large terracing. There is a BBQ area and an infinity pool that seems to vanish into the forest with the sea beyond. This three bedroom villa is ideal for all the family. There is plenty of space both inside and out to relax and unwind in the lovely, peaceful surroundings and the comfortable modern interior.

You can explore the old paths that lead into the forest and down to Dafnoudi beach and on to the World War Two gun emplacements. Antipata has excellent tavernas only a five minute walk away, whilst Fiskardo is only a five minute drive.

This is the place to relax, unwind enjoying the spectacular golden red show of the setting sun.
