The small harbour town of Sivota is one of Lefkada’s hidden gems. This enchanting inlet resembles a Norwegian fjord that has mysteriously found its way on the Lefkadian coastline.

Set within its own grounds in an idyllic location, Villa Sophia makes the most of the surrounding vegetation to maximize privacy and benefits from stunning sea views which take in the whole bay of Sivota. Olive groves and vineyards cover the slopes giving way higher up the hillside to wild oak and cypress forests, below fishing and sailing boats head into the harbour. Whilst on the other side the islands of Arkoudi, Ithaka and Kefalonia can be seen in the distance.

The interior of Villa Sophia is a cool and spacious blend of contemporary design within a traditional Greek style. The villa is built on three levels. The upper floor consists of a master double bedroom with en suite bathroom and leads out onto a large shaded balcony. Also on this level is a twin bedroom with en suite shower room leading to a balcony. The open plan living room is on the same level as the pool. Large arched picture windows give it a cool and airy feel and take full advantage of the wonderful view. The outside pool terrace with BBQ becomes that extra room, which is the hallmark of good design. On this level is an additional double bedroom which opens out to the pool terrace. Finally the fourth twin bedroom (with its own separate entrance) is on a lower level and has its own en suite facilities.

The pretty fishing village of Sivota is only about a ten minute drive from the villa and has a number of excellent seafood tavernas serving the catch of the day as well as other appetizing dishes, quaint café bars and a couple of well stocked mini-markets for those necessary supplies.
