Before the Venetians arrived in the Sporades Islands bringing with them the distinctive architectural style which can still be seen in Skopelos Town, the local inhabitants lived on the hillsides in small settlements near their vineyards and olive groves, close to springs or streams. Built out of local materials, designed to be cool in summer and warm in winter, these traditional cottages blend naturally with their environment.

Positioned above Villa Danai, Villa Aphrodite enjoys an equally private setting, this three bedroomed villa with its traditional exterior design and elegant interior has the same outstanding views across the town and harbour as its neighbour.

This luxurious new house, continues this same tradition. Using the same local stone wherever possible, combining all the traditional qualities with comfortable, modern interiors and outstanding views. Set in an olive grove on a hillside overlooking the small harbour of Skopelos Town, it is secluded but conveniently located only a few minutes’ drive from the main waterfront and the surrounding beaches.

A drive leads up from the access lane to one side of Villa Aphrodite. The surrounding olive trees have been retained and the swimming pool’s spacious paved sun terrace is secluded and very private. A large shaded veranda with built in BBQ in front of the house makes a perfect viewpoint for watching the sun rise beyond Alonissos, but even if early rising is not part of the holiday plan, it serves equally well as an outdoor ‘room’ for the rest of the day. The open plan living room with its large picture windows has French doors opening to the front, and a well equipped kitchen with dining area at the back. Also on this floor is a double bedroom with en suite shower room. Upstairs are two bedrooms sharing a separate shower room, both with wonderful views to the front.
The double bedroom has three large windows looking out on the fantastic vista but no balcony. The twin bedroom has a large veranda and private terrace overlooking the pool, across the rooftops and towards Alonnisos, you won’t even have to get out of bed to enjoy that sunrise!<
