What to take: Sensible shoes, camera, hat, appropriate clothes for Monasteries (shoulders and legs must be covered)

Depart Pelion in the morning for the three to four journey to the Monasteries of Meteora. Dating back the 11th Century this unique and remarkable site is certain to evoke emotion in all who visit. Access to the tall pillars reaching to the sky used to be possible only by rope ladder or basket. Steps have been cut out of the rock and it is possible to explore these pillars and the main monasteries. The morning is devoted to exploration, followed by lunch and the return journey. Lunch is not included.

CRUISING THE PAGASITIC GULF - Tuesday

What to take: Swimwear, towel, hat

A lazy day aboard a Turkish gullet. First, the boat meanders over to Trikeri Island, where you will have a chance to explore, and then onto the beaches of the gulf, stopping here and there for a swim. A lunch stop will be either on Trikeri Island or Kotes. Lunch is not included.

MOUNTAIN TRAIN JOURNEY - Sunday

An unusual way to appreciate the magnificent Pelion mountain scenery. Re-opened after twenty years, this small mountain train climbs up the mountainside through the most remarkable scenery, over various bridges and up to the mountain village of Milies. Here one can visit the historical museum and examine the manuscripts of scholars who took part in the Greek Revolution of 1821, prior to lunching and returning by road.

A lovely tour around Mount Pelion, exploring the “summer resort of the 12 Greek gods from Olympus and Mythical creatures called Centaurs”. You start at the village of Afissos climbing up the mountain towards the village of Milies. Milies is famous for it’s very rich decorated 500 year old church and historical library. The tour continues towards the Aegean side to visit the 1000 year old Plane tree in Tsagarada, with time for lunch and a swim at the summer resort of Agios Ioannis. After, we drive over the highest part of Mount Pelion passing the ski area towards “the balcony of Volos”, village Makrinitsa. Here you have time to enjoy the walk through the village passing unique mansion houses and shops with local products.
