Kontokali beach

Located just a 30-minute stroll or a quick drive along the scenic coastal road from Gouvia, you'll find two charming sandy beaches nestled on opposite sides of the peninsula.

Halikounas Beach

Nestled along the southwest coast of the island, Korisson Lagoon is a serene oasis created during the Venetian era and now designated as a nature reserve. 

Spanning 5km by 1km, this manmade lagoon offers a tranquil sanctuary where visitors can observe turtles, tortoises, flamingoes and other migratory bird species in their natural habitat.

Bordering the lagoon is the picturesque Halikounas Beach, stretching along its seaward side. Popular with holidaymakers, the section of beach closest to Agios Georgios offers a diverse array of watersports and other attractions including excellent restaurants serving international cuisine, along with a lively nightlife scene. 

Roda Beach

Kalami, Kouloura & Agni

This part of the coast is broken by a series of picturesque bays, each with its own small, quiet, fishing village. The main road is forced by the steepness of the terrain to follow a course set back from the sea, with access to these villages by winding lanes. 

Between the villages are a host of small coves accessible by path or track, which remain uncrowded even in the height of summer. The numerous waterfront restaurants provide a wide choice of menu with fresh fish very much to the fore.
