Overview
The Governor’s House, as its name implies, was the official residence of the British Governor when Paxos was a British Protectorate during the 19th century. It’s a beautifully proportioned traditional stone dwelling encircled by stately olive trees. The thick stone walls ensure that the house is cool even in the height of summer. The exterior contrasts warmly with the deep green shutters, whilst inside the house itself is spacious and airy, containing an open plan living/dining area and fully equipped kitchen, one double bedroom with en-suite, two twin bedrooms and a separate shower room.
Outside, a generous pool terrace looks out over ancient silver olive trees, allowing glimpses of the glimmering sea beyond, and a large dining table hides under a shady canopy. The villa is in an idyllic country setting but it is only a short drive to the island’s bustling capital, Gaios and the lovely beach of Kloni Gouli is only a kilometre away.
