Location

Katomeri, where the hotel is situated, has a few tavernas where the chances are that a visitor will be offered a glass of ouzo and a game of cards. The only other village on the main road (a misnomer if ever there was one) is Spartohori, an immaculate small settlement of whitewashed houses, half buried in a plethora of bougainvillea and jasmine, with outstanding views across to Lefkada and Skorpios.

Other tavernas can be found near the quay in Vathi, just one kilometre away, and the nearest beach is about thirty minutes’ walk from the hotel. For those seeking to work up an appetite there are fantastic walking routes throughout the island. For the truly energetic, footpaths, rough in places, extend down the middle of the narrow spine of land to the southeast.
