Today, tranquility reigns as yachts and fishing boats peacefully traverse the bay's narrow entrance, adorned with charming tavernas and a picturesque beachfront. Meganisi beckons as an escape from the hustle and bustle of modern life. Ancient mule trails wind through olive groves, leading to secluded beaches or hilltop vistas overlooking the Inner Ionian Sea. The island's main road, though not bustling, can be delayed by leisurely browsing goats. Spartohori, with its quaint cobbled streets and hidden tavernas, lies a short distance from the villa, while Vathi and Katomeri are just minutes away by car. Exploring Meganisi on foot reveals its natural wonders, yet the dramatic cliffs of the west coast are best admired from a tour boat departing from Nidri, with a customary circuit around Skorpios Island, now owned by a Russian oligarch, completing the experience.
