Sofia's Cottage

Sofia's Cottage itself is a typical quaint fisherman's cottage furnished in a simple yet comfortable manner. The highlight of the cottage has to be its large, covered veranda which provides breathtaking views across the harbour to the fortress on the headland beyond. Watching the fishing boats return with their catch in the evening from this vantage point is a truly memorable experience.

Inside the cottage, you'll find a dining room with a kitchenette, two bedrooms (one twin and one double), and a bathroom with a shower. While the beach is just a short walk away, it's worth noting that it will take just a few more metres to reach the Plateia, where you can find magnificent plane trees and a selection of tavernas and a mini-market for your needs.

Assos itself offers a sense of seclusion but remains well-connected. In just a 20-minute drive you arrive at the renowned Myrtos Beach, known for its stunning turquoise waters. The island of Kefalonia boasts a network of roads that make it easy to explore by car and there are intriguing and scenic walking trails nearby, often following ancient mule trails-built centuries ago.

Despite the many opportunities for exploration, you might find it tempting to simply relax and make Sofia's veranda your permanent base. The peaceful and idyllic setting, combined with the charming simplicity of the cottage, makes it a perfect retreat for those seeking a slower pace of life in a beautiful and unspoilt Greek village.
