Airline Seats & Check-in

AIRLINE BOOKING REFERENCE:

In some cases, you might need the airline’s booking reference to pre-book any specific seats you may require*.

(Please note that, in some cases, passengers travelling together may have different airline booking references. This can occur when our group allocation is full and additional flights need to be purchased directly from the airline, particularly during busy periods or when booking close to departure. If this happens, you may need to access each passenger’s booking separately, using different links or login/retrieval sessions, to select seats or check in online.)

AUTO-ALLOCATION OF SEATS: 

If you do not pre-book selected seats, seats will automatically be assigned to you. You and your party will be assigned to sit together in pairs where possible, but please note that this cannot be guaranteed and may prove more challenging during peak season and for last minute bookings.

AIRPORT ASSISTANCE:

Please ensure that you inform us of any additional assistance you may require at the airports, so that we may request special assistance for you. This request must be made at least 14 days prior to your departure. Otherwise assistance has to be arranged locally at the airport

FLIGHT ONLY:

We are able to offer a limited number of flight-only seats direct to Kefalonia, Preveza and Corfu. Please contact our UK office on 020 8459 0777 for further details.

To access your flights without airline reference:
- Visit the Ionian Jet2 website.
- Enter your surname
- Enter your Ionian Holiday Booking number

*Please note as these flights are part of our group allocation, therefore they will not be available to download on the Jet 2 App

To access your flights - with a 6-digit reference number starting with ‘3’:
- Visit the Jet2 website.
- Select ‘Manage My Booking’
- Enter your Jet2 airline reference (a 6-digit code starting with ‘3’ in red on your Travel documents).
- Enter your surname
- Enter the departure date of the flight in question.

To prebook seats: Access your flights and view aircraft seating to choose and prebook seats (payable directly to the airline), otherwise seats will be allocated automatically, usually in pairs on check-in (depending on availability).

*Once seats have been pre-booked with the airline after check in , no changes or modifications are permitted.

Check-in & boarding pass:
- Check-in opens 30 days and closes up to 6 hours before departure.
- Access your flights, add your passport details (Additional Passport Information).
- Download and/or print out your boarding passes. 

Alternatively, you may check-in at the airport.

Luggage allowance: 22kg hold & 10kg hand baggage (max 56cm x 45cm x 25cm)

 

To access your flights:
- Visit the EasyJet website.
- Select ‘Find Booking’ on the pop-up (make sure you are NOT signed into your EasyJet account, if you have one).
- Enter your surname.
- Enter your EasyJet airline reference (a 7-digit code starting with ‘K’ in red on your Travel documents).

To prebook seats:
- Access your flights and view aircraft seating to choose and prebook seats (payable directly to the airline), otherwise seats will be allocated automatically, usually in pairs on check-in (depending on availability).

*Once seats have been pre-booked with the airline after check in , no changes or modifications are permitted.

Check-in & boarding pass:
- Check-in opens 30 days and closes 2 hours before departure.
- Access your flights, add your passport details (Additional Passport Information).
- Download and/or print out your boarding passes. 

Luggage allowance: 23kg hold & one small under seat cabin bag (max 45 x 36 x 20 cm)

 

To prebook seats:
- Click to visit Flight Extras.
- Enter your 8-digit airline reference.
- Enter the surname of the lead passenger.
- Enter your departure date.
- View aircraft seating to choose and prebook seats (payable directly to the airline), otherwise seats will be allocated automatically, usually in pairs on check-in (depending on availability).

Check-in & boarding pass:
- For prebooked seats: online check-in opens 14-days prior to departure.
- With no prebooked seats: online check-in opens 48-hours prior to departure.
- Online check-in closes 6-hours prior to departure.
- You must check-in separately for outbound & inbound flights
- Print out your boarding passes (A copy is sent to our flight department who can forward them on if required (a copy is sent to our flight department who can forward them on if required).

To prebook seats:
- Click to visit Fly Extras.
- Select ‘Ionian Island Holidays’ from the drop-down menu.
- Enter your Ionian Holiday Booking number
- Select the number of passengers travelling, your flights and travel dates from the drop-down menus.
- View aircraft seating to choose and prebook seats (payable directly to the airline), otherwise seats will be allocated automatically, usually in pairs on check-in (depending on availability).

Check-in & boarding pass: Check-in at the airport at the Enter Air desk only.

Luggage Allowance: 20kg hold & 5kg hand baggage (max 55 x 40 x 20cm)

 

For flights from London Heathrow (LHR) to Kefalonia (EFL) and Preveza (PVK):

Please Note : our airline reference is typically issued 2 weeks before departure. For late bookings, it will be provided as soon as it becomes available.

To access your flights:

- Visit the BA Website
- Enter your BA airline reference (a 6 digit reference highlighted in red on your Travel documents).
- Enter your surname

To Prebook seats: Access your flights and view aircraft seating to choose and prebook seats (payable directly to the airline), otherwise seats will be allocated automatically, usually in pairs on check-in (depending on availability). If you do not pre-book selected seats, these will automatically be assigned to you. You and your party will be assigned to sit together where possible, but please note that this cannot be guaranteed.

Check-in & boarding pass:
- Check-in opens 24 hours before your flight departs and closes up to 2 hours before departure.
- Access your flights, add your passport details (Additional Passport Information).
- Download and/or print out your boarding passes via BA.com or the BA App

Online Check-in is advisable, alternatively, you may check-in at the airport.

PLEASE ENSURE YOU DOWNLOAD THE RYANAIR APP, AS IT IS NOW REQUIRED TO PRE-BOOK SPECIFIC SEATS, TO CHECK-IN, AND TO BOARD YOUR FLIGHTS.

Seat Assignment:
- Seats will be automatically assigned - in pairs, where possible - at the time of booking.
- Once processed, you will receive a flight confirmation email from Ryanair.

- If you have a Ryanair account, click on the link in the email to login.
- If you DON'T have a Ryanair account, click on the link in the email to create one. PLEASE ENSURE YOU USE THE SAME EMAIL ADDRESS AS THE ONE ON YOUR IONIAN HOLIDAY BOOKING.

- To change your allocated seating, login to the Ryanair app. Please note that specific seating such as extra-leg-room seats, will incur an extra charge, payable directly to the airline..

DIGITAL BOARDING PASS (mandatory):
- Ryanair check-in opens up to 60 days prior, and closes 2 hours before departure. 
- Once open, YOU MUST CHECK-IN ONLINE via the Ryanair website or app within this timeframe.
- Once you have checked-in, your Digital Boarding Pass will automatically appear in your account on the app.

At the Airport:
- Present your Digital Boarding Pass on the app on your phone at security and at the boarding gate. A fee of up to £55 applies if you fail to check-in online and need help to do so at the airport.
- If you have checked-in online but cannot access the Digital Boarding Pass on your phone when asked to present it, you can get a free boarding pass at the airport.
