If you love Greek mythology many of the sites mentioned in Homer’s Odyssey can be explored from here. Afroditi’s Spring, the Cave of Eumaios, and the spectacular crag of Korak (the Crow) are all within easy reach. Paths nearby lead to (driveable part of the way) the picturesque Kaminia beach for swimming anytime of the day, where blue is most definitely the colour of the Ionian Sea.
